The per capita disposable income of Suzhou’s urban residents in 2020 reached 70,966 yuan, exceeding 70,000 yuan for the first time, according to the official data released by the NBS survey team in Suzhou on Jan. 20.
Statistics show that in 2020, the per capita disposable income of Suzhou residents was 62,582 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.1%, and the growth rate was 0.6% higher than the previous three quarters. The per capita disposable income of urban residents increased by 3.4% to 70,966 yuan while that of rural residents by 6.9% to 37,563 yuan.
The per capita disposable income gap between Suzhou’s urban and rural residents continued to narrow, with the ratio standing at 1.889:1 in 2020, an improvement from 1.952:1 in 2019. The city’s urban-rural income ratio was 0.305 lower than the provincial average and 0.669 lower than the national average.
