Photo taken a few days ago shows farmers harvesting gorgon fruit in Qinli Village of Shuangfeng Town, Taicang City. The village has an aquaculture area of more than 800 mu (about 53.4 hectares), with an estimated annual output value of about 1 million yuan.
Gorgon fruit, also known as jitoumi or qianshi in Chinese, is one of the eight aquatic delicacies in China’s Jiangnan region (the area south of the Yangtze River).
