On Jan. 19, a New Year paintings exhibition kicked off at Suzhou Art Museum. On display are 40 Yangjiabu New Year paintings and 45 Taohuawu New Year paintings. The exhibition will run until Feb. 23.
The event is co-sponsored by Suzhou Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, Weifang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and Suzhou Wu Culture Research Association, and undertaken by Suzhou Art Museum, Suzhou Taohuawu New Year Wood-Block Painting Museum, and Suzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and Management Office.
Yangjiabu New Year woodblock painting, a national intangible cultural heritage, is now one of China’s three representatives of traditional folk paintings for the New Year, together with Tianjin’s Yangliuqing and Suzhou’s Taohuawu.
